The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday rejected claims circulating on social media and messaging platforms that there was a “leak”, prior access or “sale” of the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination question paper.Reactions on social media reflected frustration and skepticism. One user wrote: “Awesome, isn’t it? Every time there’s a controversy over a paper leak, NTA ends up calling it ‘fake news’. And then, they end up exposing their mistake. #NEET2026”Another user said: “Don’t think that if any wrongdoing happens again within the system, taking responsibility will give you a free pass… Don’t bother with your tweets and promises…. Just
Treat the net like a national level test…one time. The third reaction read: “Where was the commitment during the first paper leak and many more in history. The problem is the NTA and the committee members sold education on the open market…this is the truth!!”
The agency said in its post that it had seen messages containing such allegations and described them as false. “These claims are false, fraudulent and intended to mislead,” she said. The NTA also said: “Such content is the work of organized cheating rackets that prey on the anxiety of students and their families.”
The agency further said that these groups are trying to “extort money by selling fake papers,” and explained that every claim shared is fabricated. She also said the exam system remains secure. “The integrity of the examination process is fully intact, and every safeguard is in place to ensure a fair and safe examination for all candidates,” the statement read. The NEET-UG exam held on May 3 was canceled by the NTA on May 12 amid allegations of paper leakage. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently investigating the matter and the re-test is scheduled to be conducted on June 21.
