Candidates can access their scorecards through the official websites of DigiLocker and CBSE. The new system was introduced under the NEP 2020 reforms and allows better grades from board examinations to be transferred to the final mark sheet.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the 2026 Class 10th Board Examination Result 2026 on the official website, cbse.gov.in. Students who appeared for the optional improvement exam can now access their digital marksheets through DigiLocker, while the results are also available on the board’s official websites.The second board exam, which was introduced for the first time this year, provides students with an opportunity to improve their performance without losing the marks they obtained in the first attempt. Under the new system, the higher scores obtained in the two tests will be reflected in the final mark sheet.
CBSE implements a two-board examination system
The 2026 academic session saw the launch of the two-board examination framework for Grade 10 in line with the NEP 2020 reforms.
While attendance for the first board examination remained compulsory, the second examination was optional and designed exclusively for students seeking better grades.The initiative aims to reduce exam-related stress by providing students with another opportunity to enhance their academic performance instead of relying on a single high-stakes test.According to CBSE, the final mark sheet will automatically reflect the best result obtained in either attempt.
How to download CBSE Class 10 Second Board Mark Sheet
Students can get their digital marksheet through DigiLocker by following these steps:
- Visit the DigiLocker website or open the DigiLocker mobile app.
- Log in using your registered mobile number or Aadhaar credentials. New users must complete the registration process first.
- Go to the Documents issued section and select Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
- Click on the 10th grade mark sheet/pass certificate 2026.
- Enter the required credentials, including roll number, school number and admit card ID, if required.
- Submit your details to view, download and save the digital marksheet for future use.

The minimum passing marks remain unchanged
CBSE has retained the existing passing criteria for the second board examination. Students must obtain at least 33 percent marks to be declared successful.Candidates who fail to meet the minimum qualification requirements must appear in the compartment examination as per the Board regulations.
More than five thousand students took the improvement exam
The introduction of the second board test received a strong response, with more than five thousand students registering for the optional improvement test.Earlier this year, the first board examination for Class 10 recorded an overall pass rate of 93.70 per cent. The second examination was conducted to provide students with another opportunity to enhance their academic records before admission to the senior secondary level.The announcement of the second board results completes the first full cycle of the revised CBSE examination format for Class 10, which is expected to play a central role in the board’s assessment framework in the coming years.
