Sydney: India faces a crucial challenge as they take on Australia in the third ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday. With the series already lost 0-2, the Men in Blue will be eager to end on a high note. However, the Indian team suffered a setback ahead of the match.

Nitish Kumar Reddy Injured

All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who made quick runs in the lower order during the first ODI in Perth, sustained a left-leg injury in the second match. He will not be available for the third ODI. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) medical team is closely monitoring him. Kuldeep Yadav has been included in the squad as his replacement.

Changes in India’s Playing 11 Player

India has made two changes for the third ODI:

  • Kuldeep Yadav replaces Nitish Kumar Reddy.
  • Prasidh Krishna replaces Harshit Rana.

India Playing 11:
Shubman Gill (Captain), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, KL Rahul (Wicketkeeper), Washington Sundar, Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj

Australia’s Team

Australia won the toss and chose to bat first. There is one change in their playing XI, with Nathan Ellis coming in for Xavier Bartlett.

Australia Playing 11 Player:
Mitchell Marsh (Captain), Travis Head, Matthew Short, Matthew Renshaw, Alex Carey (Wicketkeeper), Cooper Connolly, Mitchell Owen, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Ellis, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood

Match Update

Australia made a steady start in their innings, scoring 26 runs in the first 5 overs without losing a wicket. The opening pair of Head and Marsh completed a half-century partnership for the first wicket. India will look to break the partnership quickly.

Strategic Changes and Spin Department

India has made tactical changes to strengthen their bowling attack. Axar Patel and Washington Sundar continue to shoulder the spin responsibilities. The inclusion of Kuldeep Yadav adds depth and balance to the team, while Harshit Rana is not fully fit.

With the series already lost, India will aim for a strong performance in the third ODI, relying on key players to step up and finish the tour on a positive note.
