MUMBAI: Average daily UPI volumes rose to ₹75.7 crore in June from ₹74.8 crore in May, up 1.2% month-on-month, while average daily value remained flat at ₹96,405 crore against ₹96,465 crore, down 0.1%.
According to the National Payments Corporation of India, this stabilization in daily operating rates came even as headline monthly numbers declined after a strong month of May.Monthly UPI volumes fell to Rs 2,270 crore in June from Rs 2,320 crore, down 2.1%, while value fell to Rs 28.9 lakh crore from Rs 29.9 lakh crore, down 3.3%. On a yearly basis, volumes were up 23% and value was up 20%, indicating continued expansion despite the sequential moderation.
FASTag transactions also decreased on a monthly basis. Volumes fell to Rs 36.2 lakh crore from Rs 37.5 lakh crore, down 3.5%, while value fell to Rs 7,215 crore from Rs 7,308 crore, down 1.3%.
On an annual basis, volumes shrank by 6% but value increased by 6%.IMPS recorded a similar month-on-month decline in totals. Volumes fell to Rs 35.4 lakh crore from Rs 35.8 lakh crore, down 1.1%, and value fell to Rs 6.8 lakh crore from Rs 7 lakh crore, down 2.7%. On an annual basis, volumes decreased by 21% while values increased by 12%.
