India joined 34 other countries in supporting a US-led initiative to build reliable and resilient AI supply chains, as it signed the Joint Statement on AI Opportunities at the second Pax Celeca summit in Washington on Thursday.Jacob Helberg, US Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, said that the declaration unites participating countries behind a pro-growth and innovation regulatory approach in the age of artificial intelligence.“Commitment to reliable supply chains, mobilization of the private sector, and infrastructure that will power the next century,” the agency quoted Helberg as saying.Argentina, Germany, the Netherlands, Chile, Costa Rica, Greece, Kazakhstan, Panama and the European Union joined the Pax Seleka initiative on the sidelines of the summit.India was represented by S. Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, and Nagraj Naidu, Additional Secretary (Americas) in the Ministry of External Affairs, and representatives of Indian industry.The Indian delegation held discussions with governments and industry representatives on expanding cooperation in the field of semiconductors, artificial intelligence and resilient technology supply chains.

“The future of AI will not be determined by who organizes first,” Helberg said. “It will be determined by who builds first and builds the most capacity. More power, more computing, more chips, more talent, more builders. A future where we accelerate innovation and private investment is welcome.”He added: “Together, we aspire to build the future of artificial intelligence that serves our people, strengthens our economies, and enables entrepreneurship, innovation and the rule of law.”Helberg said the Pax Seleka initiative was launched in December last year with a few countries. India joined the initiative in February on the sidelines of the AI ​​Impact Summit in New Delhi.
