Conflict in the Middle East disrupts aviation: About 100 international flights have been canceled at Delhi and Mumbai airports

The ongoing conflict in the Middle East has begun to impact India’s international flight operations, with around 100 international flights canceled at Delhi and Mumbai airports on Saturday, PTI reported, citing an official.At Mumbai airport, 35 departures and 36 arrivals were cancelled, while at Delhi airport, 22 departures and 17 arrivals were cancelled.Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), which runs the national capital’s airport, said some westbound international flights may face delays or schedule changes due to the evolving situation in the region.“Due to the current situation in the Middle East, some westbound international flights may experience delays or schedule changes,” DIAL said in a post on X.

The disruptions come as the conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran, which began on February 28, has significantly impacted flight paths and operations across the region.Many airspaces in the Middle East remain closed, forcing airlines to redirect their flights or suspend their services. As a result, many airlines are operating only a limited number of flights on the affected routes.
