NEW DELHI: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on Sunday called on companies to work with the government to build raw material and fuel reserves and strengthen supply chains amid disruptions caused by the West Asian crisis.“The current situation represents a supply-side disruption, with pressures transmitted through energy costs, logistics and working capital cycles,” it said in a statement, while advising companies to ensure the benefits of stable fuel and logistics costs are passed on to consumers to help manage inflation. The industry body proposed accelerating investments in renewable energy, green hydrogen and energy efficiency to reduce reliance on conventional fuels and explore a switch from LPG to natural gas where possible.
