The Andhra Pradesh government has mobilized INR 40,887 crore to pave major roads in the Amaravati capital region, according to Minister of State for Urban Development Punguru Narayana.

“The 96-kilometre inner ring road has been designed with eight and four lanes, and will be completed by March 2027,” he said while responding to a question in the state assembly.

The money came from various global and local financial agencies, according to the minister. The internal rate of return will be in two stages. In the first phase, it will extend from Kittanakonda to Nona, covering a distance of 67 km. In the second stage, it will be from Nona to Ketanan Kunda, passing through the Kondapalli forest area.

Narayana said that the proposed road will pass through 26 villages in the first phase and that the detailed project report is ready. The government directed officials to complete the required land acquisition process within the next six months. Tenders have already been floated for works worth Rs 18,779 crore, he added.
