Tata Punch EV facelift launching tomorrow: What to expect

Tata Motors is all set to launch the new Tata Punch EV in the Indian market tomorrow, i.e. on February 20, 2026. This marks the first facelift of the model since its debut in 2023, bringing subtle design updates, a new color option and a few other improvements.

Pre-bookings for the electric vehicle will begin tomorrow, with deliveries scheduled to begin immediately after the launch. The standard model gets a 25 kWh battery with a MIDC range of 315 km, while the LR model gets a 35 kWh battery with a MIDC range of 421 km. Tata claims that the Long Range models can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 9.5 seconds, while the standard models take 13.5 seconds.

It will continue to have a 3.3 kW wall charger and a 7.2 kW fast charger. The Punch EV will also support DC fast charging, and Tata claims that it can charge from 10 to 80 per cent in 56 minutes using a 50 kW fast charger.According to reports, the Punch EV could receive a larger battery pack option. While the exact capacity has not been confirmed, it is expected to be around 40 kWh or 45 kWh, providing an extended driving range.

Tata Punch EV Facelift: Design The most noticeable changes are at the front. The updated Punch EV ditches the black stripe that previously ran between the headlights, opting instead for a sleek, sealed mesh area that adds to its overall appearance. A full-width LED light bar now joins the daytime running lights, and the lower part of the front bumper has been subtly modified to enhance the modern look of this SUV.The upcoming electric car also gets newly designed, aero-focused alloy wheels that will likely measure 195/60 R16.

In addition to the visual updates, there is a new body colour, inspired by the Harrier’s sunlit yellow, which will be offered with a contrasting black roof. While the rear design has yet to be officially revealed, the electric SUV will likely feature attached LED taillights, in line with the petrol-powered Punch model. Other features will include a charging port on the front, sliding panels on both ends, a built-in wing, a shark fin antenna, and more.Tata Punch EV facelift: Interior and features Moving inside, the overall design will remain the same, but will get minor tweaks as seen on the ICE model. It is expected to get redesigned air conditioning vents and new upholstery options, along with improved thigh support for the seats. Other interior features will include a two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated logo, piano black center console, rotary drive selector with central display, touchscreen air conditioning control panel, door surrounds, corner air vents with silver accents and more.The e-SUV is expected to get a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a new user interface. It continues to get other features like a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, voice-activated single-pane electric sunroof, automatic climate control, LED headlights with DRLs, multi-color ambient lighting, wireless charging, 360-degree camera, auto-dimming IRVM, and arcade. Expected safety features include six airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, all-wheel disc brakes, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a 360-degree camera, and front and rear parking sensors. Speculation suggests that the Punch EV model could be offered with Level 2 ADAS, but the company is yet to officially confirm this feature.
