Jamie Campbell Bower has left an indelible mark with his chilling looks, guttural voice, sinister intent, and poignant story for his role as Vecna in Stranger Things. While characterization is embedded in viewers’ minds, the 37-year-old actor revealed that there was one thing about his look that the actor wanted to tweak – and he got it.
The noseless face was complete with vascular gray flesh, pulsing vines, and clawed fingers; However, one item he most wanted to change was the prosthetic foot. Here’s a closer look at Jamie Campbell Bower’s suggestion to change Vecna’s appearance in “Stranger Things.” Jamie Campbell Bower reflected on his thoughts at the Brave Warriors panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, which included “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” star Benjamin Walker, “Drifter” star Sung Kang, and “The Walking Dead: Dead City” star Raul Castillo.
“Shoes are a big thing because they affect the way you walk,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “It’s something I always focus on. I remember after finishing Season 4 of Stranger Things, [prosthetics designer] Barry [Gower] It was like, “If there was one thing you could change, what would it be?” And I’d be like, “Feet.” “I will make it more tangible,” the actor said, recalling the conversation. By the time Jamie Campbell Bower filmed the fifth season, the filmmakers acknowledged his suggestions and changed the idea for Vecna for the last season.
“Of course, we’ve reached Season 5, and even my toes are CG, so there’s no reason to worry about that,” the actor said, continuing: “[But] This was what I wanted.
