Coyote vs. Acme: Meet the underdogs taking on the might of Acme Corp.

“What was David Zaslav thinking?” That’s the question anyone watching the hilarious, long-awaited first trailer is asking Coyote vs. Peak They’ll ask themselves, especially after the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery poorly hides the completed movie for a tax write-off.

Fortunately, after backlash, Zaslav relented and allowed the filmmakers to find new distributors. In March 2025, Ketchup Entertainment acquired the rights and then got people excited for the film with a first look at San Diego Comic Con last year and an industry-specific look at the trailer at CinemaCon earlier this year. Fast forward to today, Ketchup has released the first proper look at the film that has become a cause célèbre in Hollywood. It seems that it might have been worth all the hype.

The 2-minute trailer for Coyote vs. Peakwhich precedes the film’s first public showing at this year’s Comic Con on July 25, features an ever-unlucky werewolf trying and failing to catch the Road Runner. Again and again he fails, but heed! His bad luck might be due to the Acme products he’s been using all these years! After seeing a TV ad for a struggling billboard lawyer (Will Forte), Coyote decides to take on the might of Acme and its lead lawyer (John Cena) over all their defective products, setting things up nicely for a legal battle between David and Goliath with a Looney Tunes twist.

The trailer shows off all the crazy violence in the movie wolf Cartoons (there are too many falling anvils to be believable) and Porky Pig, Bugs Bunny and other famous Looney Tunes characters all appear. Tweetie Pie kind of steals the trailer, and the addition of Foghorn Leghorn as a southern operatic lawyer representing Acme is a nice touch (think Lane Smith in My cousin Vinny Or Tommy Lee Jones in Client).

In addition to Forte and Cena, the human cast includes Lana Condor, Ton Bell, PJ Byrne, Martha Kelly, and Luis Guzman. Coyote vs. Peak It was directed by Dave Green and written by Sammy Burch from a story by Burch, James Gunn and Jeremy Slater. The film is produced by Gunn and Chris DeFaria.

Coyote vs. Peak It hits theaters August 28.
