“The Odyssey” set at the box office on the sixth day
As per sacnilk’s early estimates, ‘The Odyssey’ has collected a net collection of Rs 6.50 crore on the sixth day (Wednesday) across 8,268 shows in India. The film registered a 22.2% decline from Tuesday’s net collection of Rs 8.35 crore.
‘The Odyssey’ is doing well at the box office in India
‘The Odyssey’ began its theatrical run with a net opening of Rs 17.40 crore on Friday before witnessing significant growth over the weekend.
By the end of its first weekend, the film had collected an estimated Rs 61.30 crore nett, driven by strong occupancy in premium IMAX formats and positive word of mouth.Although the weekday collections dropped to around Rs 8 crore, the saga managed to remain steady at the box office before the bigger drop on Wednesday.
‘Odyssey’ crosses Rs 100 crore
Taking into account the film’s earnings on Wednesday, the film now boasts an estimated total Hindi net collection of Rs 84.15 crore, while its total India collection has reached around Rs 100.38 crore.
The latest figures make ‘The Odyssey’ only the 21st Hollywood release to cross the Rs 100-crore gross in India. This major achievement marks the second film from Christopher Nolan and Matt Damon to achieve this feat in the country. The two previously worked on the blockbuster Oppenheimer (2023), which remains among the top 10 grossing Hollywood releases in India with a lifetime collection of Rs 128.46 crore.
The English version is still dominant
The film’s English-language original remains the largest contributor to its gross earnings in India. Out of the total Rs 84.15 crore net collection collected so far, the revenue of the English version stands at around Rs 66.55 crore, underscoring the strong demand for Nolan’s films in their original language.Meanwhile, the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions collectively contributed less than Rs 20 crore, adding to the film’s nationwide tally.
