BPSC 72nd Joint Preliminary Examination 2026 Postponed; The new date will be announced soon

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has postponed the 72nd Integrated Preliminary Examination 2026, which was scheduled to be conducted on July 26, due to unavoidable reasons. The committee will announce a new date for the exam soon. Candidates aspiring for 1,186 government posts should visit the official website of BPSC regularly to get updates about the revised schedule, admit cards and further instructions.

The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has postponed the 72nd Integrated Competitive Examination (Preliminary) 2026. The exam, which was earlier scheduled to be conducted on July 26, 2026, has been postponed due to what the commission termed as “unavoidable reasons”.

Candidates who were preparing to appear for the preliminary examination were advised to keep checking the official BPSC website for further announcements regarding the revised examination schedule.

BPSC issues official notice of postponement

The authority confirmed, in an official notification, that the examination had not been conducted on the previously announced date.The notice states the following:The 72nd Integrated Competitive Examination (Preliminary), which was scheduled to be held on July 26, 2026, has been postponed for unavoidable reasons. The committee will soon announce the new date for the exam“.

The notification was issued by the Controller of Examinations of BPSC and uploaded on the official portal of the commission.

Candidates are asked to wait until the schedule is adjusted

The committee has not yet announced the new date for the initial examination. Aspirants are advised to visit the BPSC official website regularly to get updates about the revised examination date, admit card release and other important instructions.The postponement means that the exam schedule announced earlier this month remains canceled until a new timetable is issued.

The exam date was July 26th

Earlier, BPSC announced that the 72nd Integrated Preliminary Examination will be conducted on July 26, 2026 (Sunday) in one shift across examination centers in Bihar.With the latest notification, candidates will now have to wait for the Commission to announce the revised examination calendar.

Recruitment for 1,186 vacant government jobs

BPSC Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) is one of the major recruitment exams in Bihar Civil Services.

The 72nd recruitment session aims to fill 1,186 vacancies in various departments of the Bihar government.The recruitment process takes place in three stages – initial screening, main screening and interview.

Jobs to be filled through the recruitment campaign

Successful candidates will be appointed to several Group A and Group B management positions, including:

  • Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)
  • Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM)
  • Rural development officer
  • Revenue Officer
  • Block Panchayat Raj Officer
  • Other administrative positions in various departments of the state government
