Akhil Akkineni’s ‘Lenin’ continued its theatrical run with a modest performance on its eighth day at the box office. After completing its first week, the action drama entered its second weekend with lower collections.According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated Rs 1.65 crore nett in India on the 8th day. The latest figure represents a decline of 17.5% compared to the net Rs 2.00 lakh crore raised the previous day.

India’s net collections cross Rs 38 lakh crore

The eighth day’s earnings came from 1,681 shows across India. ‘Lenin’ has taken its total net worth in India to an estimated Rs 38.30 crore. Its total collection in India now stands at Rs 43.94 crore.The film completed its first week with a net collection of Rs 36.65 crore. It added another Rs 1.65 lakh crore on its second Friday to boost its domestic total.

The global total rises to Rs 53.49 lakh crore

‘Lenin’ collected an estimated Rs 15 lakh total internationally on the 8th day. This takes its overseas total to Rs 9.55 lakh crore. The action film’s worldwide gross collection has now reached Rs 53.49 crore.Numbers abroad have remained relatively modest. However, they helped push the film beyond the Rs 50-crore mark globally.

Occupancy remains above 20% on the eighth day

The Telugu version of “Lenin” recorded an overall occupancy of 20.96% on its eighth day.

The film recorded an occupancy rate of 15.69% in the morning. Afternoon shows recorded 20.77%, while evening occupancy increased to 21.38%. The highest turnout rate came during the night shows, where the occupancy rate reached 25.31%.At the state level, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana remained the film’s top contributors, grossing Rs 1.65 crore on the eighth day. Karnataka added Rs 20 lakh, while Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 2 lakh. The remaining districts together got Rs 3 lakh.

Village drama inspired by Indian epics

Directed by Murali Kishore Appuru, ‘Lenin’ is set in the fictional village of Bharatam Metta in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. The story revolves around an orphan who is raised by the village elder Jayamma and later falls in love with Bharati. What begins as a simple rural drama gradually develops into a story of revenge, betrayal, and long-hidden secrets.The film begins in 1976 and presents a world shaped by tradition, faith, and village politics.
