Conviction of Taher Hussein

Reacting to the court’s ruling, Poonawalla claimed that the 2020 Delhi riots constituted an “anti-Hindu pogrom” and accused the Congress, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and their “ecosystem” of being involved.

“Today, it has become clear that the Delhi riots were an ‘anti-Hindu pogrom’… It is unfortunate that Congress, AAP and their entire ecosystem were involved in it. At that time, Tahir Hussain was a very senior leader in the Aam Aadmi Party; he was communicating with senior party leaders like Arvind Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh… This means that AAP is also trying to cover up this whole ‘anti-Hindu pogrom’… These are ‘people protecting rioters’ And terrorists… This is not just a punishment for Taher Hussein, but rather a condemnation of this entire ecosystem.” that I He was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, Delhi Law Minister Kapil Mishra also criticized the 2020 violence. “The conspiracy was to block roads, selectively target and kill Hindus, and ultimately force them to leave the area. Ankit Sharma’s murder was part of that conspiracy, and Tahir Hussain has now been convicted in the case. However, many other people are involved,” Mishra said, as reported by PTI.

“Those who defended Omar Khalid, sought to protect Tahir Hussain, and tried to distort the truth about the Delhi riots must also be held accountable. Tahir Hussain is only one perpetrator; justice against the so-called masterminds is still pending in the courts and, ultimately, in God’s court,” the minister added.
