James Franco has once again found his way to social media, but this time, to expose “some serious bullshit” that he claims has been going on.

On June 3, the scandal-plagued Oscar-nominated actor debuted on TikTok with a new account, having stayed away from social media since 2018 following sexual misconduct allegations. In his first video, he explained that it was really him and not the AI, writing in the caption: “I can’t say much now. But keep going and I promise it will all make sense.”

For any regular TikTok user, their first thought might be: Is James Franco crazy? Don’t worry, because he already made it clear in the first video that he’s not. He said: “Maybe I look crazy. Why? What’s going on? What’s the trick? No. This is real.”

However, in several strange and cryptic videos he has posted since the beginning of June, it tells a different story. Franco often appears frantic, and has continued to state that he believes he is being watched or followed and is concerned that he may disappear.

This led fans to speculate about what’s actually going on, with many speculating that it was all related to the promotion of an upcoming film project. But on June 15, Franco revealed in another video that the secrecy was all about an alien he allegedly saw on his property.

After saying he would reveal the footage of the extraterrestrial encounter, Franco began mocking the date, which was July 13. “Well, they hacked my account. I got it back. They want me to stop. People think I’m acting crazy. Whatever. I’m not acting crazy. I saw something. They tried to hack my account and get it back. They don’t want me to show what I’m going to show,” he said in a panicked video on June 25. I’ll show that, I already told you, 7/13.

Once the big day arrived on Monday, Franco said in the much-anticipated video that he was “pushed” to reveal the revelation. “I saw something, and I thought, ‘You know what? I can’t keep this quiet,'” he said. “I need to get this out for this very reason people are trying to stop me.”

However, I’m not sure the footage Franco has been promoting for a month was what fans were expecting. In the black and white clips, an alien-like figure can be seen wandering outside his house and approaching his windows.

But in reality, the footage didn’t look very convincing, and fans in the comments section of the video agreed. “It’s clearly fake but I’ll say it again, I’m excited for any movie related to this,” one person wrote, while another added: “Damn James Franco, you made us wait for this?!” Users also note that you must be a paid subscriber to Franco’s account to watch additional footage.

It looks like fans will just have to wait and see if Franco is really surfing the internet in his free time or if this is all part of a bigger project – perhaps a movie? “There’s a lot of footage dropping soon! It’s getting so crazy!!!” A message reads at the end of Monday’s video.

Hollywood Reporter I reached out to Franco’s rep for more information and confirmation that it is the actor’s real TikTok account, but did not receive a response as of press time. Also, according to Franco’s IMDb page, he’s currently working on several films, but none of them seem to focus on extraterrestrial life.

Franco was known for his prolific output, but has rarely appeared in mainstream film and television projects since sexual misconduct allegations against him became public. The actor’s last big film project was the Coen brothers’ Western comedy anthology film Buster Scruggs song for Netflix in 2018. Franco’s last TV project was the HBO series Satanwhich ended in 2019. He will appear in two upcoming films distributed by Lionsgate, including John Rambo In 2027, the date has not yet been determined Golden State KillerA film directed by and starring fellow Hollywood outcast Vincent Gallo.
