According to police officers, the policeman and his wife were traveling on a motorcycle when an argument broke out between them. The man stopped the car and allegedly shot the woman.

When the wife fell on the road after being shot, the policeman fled the scene and left her behind.

The accident was witnessed by between four and five passersby, who transported the woman to a nearby hospital in a rickshaw. She later died from her injuries.

A chase is underway, and the police are conducting a survey CCTV footage of the fleeing policeman.

A man shot his cousin dead because of an “illicit relationship”

In a separate incident, a man was allegedly shot dead by his cousin during a family event in Mathura is from Uttar Pradesh over an alleged “illicit relationship”, police said on Sunday.

According to news agency ANI, quoting Circle Officer Praveen Tiwari, the Highway Police Station received information about the incident in which the accused shot his cousin.

“The Highway Police Station received information regarding the shooting death of a man allegedly by his cousin Pawan Chaudhary. On receiving the information, I and the Highway Police Station Officer (SHO) of the Highway Police Station immediately examined the spot. The accused was immediately taken into police custody at the spot along with his licensed revolver,” CO Tiwari said in the statement.

The police media cell reported that when the accused was interrogated during the initial investigation, he claimed to have committed the crime against the backdrop of an alleged illegal relationship between the deceased and the accused’s wife.

“The preliminary investigation indicates that the accused committed the crime due to an alleged illicit relationship between the deceased and the accused’s wife. We are currently conducting investigation procedures regarding the deceased,” Tiwari added.

“We are currently conducting investigations into the deceased,” the officer added. An investigation into this matter is ongoing.

Encounter in Mathura, shooting accused arrested

Earlier, a shooting suspect was arrested in another case Mathura police after a brief exchange of gunfire, officials said on Sunday.

Officials said several raids were carried out to track down the man accused of shooting and wounding his partner in Khamni village on July 2, after a complaint was registered about the incident.
