The accused has been identified as Vijay Mallikarjun Kamat, who was arrested by Marathahalli police following the woman’s complaint. The police have registered a case under Sections 75, 79 and 329 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), news agency PTI reported.

The incident received widespread attention after the woman shared her account on social media, claiming that the delivery manager insisted on using her bathroom while delivering packages.

According to the woman, she repeatedly rejected his request and told him that she did not allow strangers into her house. She also suggested that he ask help from the male neighbors living next door if it was an emergency.

Despite her repeated refusals, she claimed that the delivery man took off his shoes and entered her apartment without her consent.

A woman narrates her ordeal

In an Instagram post detailing the incident, the woman said she felt her boundaries had been violated.

“I politely declined several times and told him clearly that I do not allow strangers into my apartment. I even suggested that he ask the male neighbors next door as it was an urgent matter. Despite my repeated refusal, he took off his shoes and forcefully entered my house without my permission,” she wrote.

She further alleged that after using the bathroom, the man exposed his genitals to her.

“When he came out of the bathroom, he exposed his genitals to me. I felt shocked, violated, humiliated and completely unsafe in my own home. One woman said: ‘No!’ That should have been the end of the conversation. ‘No one has the right to ignore her boundaries or force entry into her home,’ she said.

The woman also stated that she recorded parts of the incident on her phone to protect herself and preserve evidence.

The allegations quickly went viral on social media after an X user highlighted the issue, claiming that a Flipkart delivery manager forced his way into the woman’s bathroom and then exposed himself to her. The post tagged Bengaluru City Police and urged them to take strict action.
