The Kerala High Court on Friday set aside its earlier order directing the police to provide protection to the little girl who shot to fame during the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela and whose husband is now facing kidnapping charges, after the police claimed she could not be traced.

Police told Magistrate Bishu Kurian Thomas that when they tried to enforce the protection order, they were unable to find the girl’s whereabouts, said her lawyer PS Anishad.
Lawyer Anishad said that the court directed the police to provide protection to the girl when she approaches her asking for the same.
“The interim order is vacated. It was published on July 21,” the court said.
The high court order for police protection came on the girl’s request seeking directions to the state government and the SHO of Ernakulam Central police station to protect her life.
Farman accuses the girl’s husband of kidnapping her in a case registered by the Madhya Pradesh police based on a complaint filed by her father, who claimed that she was a minor.
With a captivating smile and beautiful eyes, the Indore girl shot to fame after a virtual content creator shared a video of her selling rudraksh garlands at the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh last year.
She married the man in Kerala, in the presence of senior CCP leaders, despite her family’s opposition.
However, her family later claimed that she was a minor, which led to Madhya Pradesh Police booking Varman for various crimes, including kidnapping, under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Act, the Child Marriage Prohibition Act 2006, and the Scheduled Castes/Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act 1989.
