Baking and grilling are often considered a treat. But when it leads to disaster, it’s a sign of paying attention to the machine and techniques. Let’s accept that even reliable kitchen tools can cause unexpected safety issues.
That’s why manufacturers sometimes issue recalls to prevent potential injuries and ensure consumer safety. In the latest case, Conair, an American consumer goods company, issued a recall of the Cuisinart Propel+ Four Burner 3-in-1 Gas Grill because the pizza oven’s tempered glass window could shatter during use. According to reports, 37 incidents of glass shattering occurred during use, and one fire incident was also reported.

Why was the oven range recalled?
According to the latest media reports, Conair has issued a recall of the Cuisinart Propel+ Four Burner 3-in-1 Gas Grill because the tempered glass window in the pizza oven can shatter during use, posing a risk of injury due to tearing. Also, Conair has asked consumers to stop using the recalled grill immediately and visit Conair’s website to check if their grill is included in the recall.
As of June 25, 2026, the company had received one incident report and no reports of injuries in Canada.
However, in the United States, there were 37 reports of glass shattering and no reports of injuries. For starters, a tear is a deep tear or cut in the skin or other soft tissue, usually caused by blunt trauma, a sharp object, or an impact. Unlike a clean surgical incision, a tear often has rough, irregular edges because the tissue has been torn rather than neatly cut.
The product reportedly sold at Lowes, Walmart and online at cuisinart.com from December 2024 through May 2026 for between $500 and $750.
What makes the grill so popular
With the trend of compact kitchens in major cities, the grill came as a smart investment, as it has a griddle, a stove top and a pizza oven with tempered glass located on top of the grill cover. The recalled model is the CGG-6331, which features a right-hand metal door and a serial number.
What customers are asked to do
According to the company, if your grill is affected by the recall, it is recommended that you remove the pizza oven’s tempered glass window and upload two photos to the company’s website: one of the glass removed and one of the grill’s serial number. While you follow the instructions, you will receive your $500 refund via check or be reimbursed for the original purchase amount with proof of receipt. According to the company, after receiving their refunds, consumers should write the word “recall” in black marker on the tempered glass and dispose of it.
