The viral video of the first coupe outfitted with flowers, balloons and fairy lights has been deleted from the Instagram page where it was initially shared. This came in the wake of backlash on social media and actions taken by the Indian Railways.

In a tweet on their official X profile, South Central Railway said that the train was decorated by a contractor hired by a couple traveling on July 6. After the video spread, the contractor was detained and a case was filed against him.
“A couple traveling in Train No. 11002 Nandigram Express on July 6, 2026 had specially engaged an online decorator to decorate their first coupe,” the railways wrote.
The organization added: “The entry of the decorator onto the bus at Jalna station was unauthorized and is seen as a serious error. The employee concerned has been placed under suspension and a detailed administrative investigation has been ordered. Appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.”
“Further, the decorator has been booked under the existing provisions of the Railway Act for unauthorized entry into the train, traveling without a ticket and indulging in trespassing,” the statement on
What was this dispute about?
The dispute began when a video went viral showing a first air-conditioned coupe decorated like a bedroom with flowers, balloons and fairy lights. The video was originally shared by an event decorating service provider in Jalna called ‘Rahat Room Decor’.
But now the video has been deleted from the page. When you click on the video link, a message appears that says “Sorry, this page is not available.”
Social media interaction:
Although some social media users welcomed the railway’s action, others wondered how a decorator could board a train and decorate a coupe without interference from authorities.
One person wrote: “Were the railway staff and officials blindfolded while the decorator was decorating this carriage? Action should be taken against every station official, from the station master to the RPF. The decorator’s mistake is not as serious as the negligence of the railway staff and the couple who arranged it. The decorator must have been sent from where he works; he would not have come willingly.”
Another commented: “Wouldn’t the simple solution have been to ask the couple to pay for the damage and cleaning? Instead of suspending one of the employees and booking the decorator.”
South Central Railway has also suspended the ticket checker concerned for the Nandigram Express.
