UGC-NET paper also leaked?

At Expo X on Wednesday, Gandhi listed a series of allegations that had surfaced in connection with a sociology paper published by UGC-NET. The Congressman also stated that the paper was leaked and was sold in parts of India for a total amount of Rs $2.25 thousand.

“A 100-page PDF file was distributed just before the UGC-NET exam. This PDF file is related to question paper preparation, and is available only with NTA. Nearly 90 questions in the PDF match those in the actual Sociology question paper. The question paper itself has been sold for $2.25 lakh in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan,” Gandhi wrote on X, adding that the same network was also providing question papers for exams like CSIR-NET, HTET and ADA.

“Even after repeated NEET and NET scams, the Modi government continues to turn a blind eye and sleep soundly, as the years of hard work of thousands of students – burning the midnight oil – are worthless to them,” the Congress leader wrote.

Rahul Gandhi also cited Dainik Bhaskar’s report alleging that the UGC-NET paper was leaked ahead of the June 30 exam.

According to the report, in Rohtak, two student leaders released a video showing the contents of the alleged sociology question paper on screen, claiming that two sets of questions were taught to candidates, and one of the sets of 100 questions matched the exam questions.

We are awaiting a response from the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the UGC NET exam.

UGC-NET Exam: Candidates allege misspellings and mistakes in the question paper

Candidates who appeared for the UGC NET Sociology paper on June 30 alleged that the question paper was riddled with numerous spelling errors, grammatical errors and poorly worded questions.

Antara Chakrabarti, who appeared for the exam, pointed out several such mistakes on social media. In a post on

“We haven’t even started on the irregularity of the paper asking questions generated by AI, random thinkers and books that are not even remotely related to the curriculum provided. 50 pieces of the paper had horrific spelling errors and grammatically disastrous sentence construction,” read a post on X by one candidate

Another candidate claimed that out of the 150 questions, at least 67 of them were similar to the question asked in the 2024 exam. The candidate added that the sequence of answers in the MCQs also did not change.
