Few celebrity divorces have been as bad as the breakup between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
A decade after the couple’s split, Brad’s children are still dropping his last name, and he and Angelina are still fighting over assets.
Given everything Brad has been accused of, it seems like it would be a bad idea to party with a guy like that on your wedding day — but that’s just one of the reasons why Taylor’s decision to invite Brad is so baffling.
She may have reached a point in her career where she doesn’t have to worry about optics.
But whatever the case, this is another aspect of Taylor’s wedding that is generating controversy this week.
“I can’t stand this offensive piece of shit,” one Reddit user wrote, adding:
“Why didn’t he cancel like so many other people who did so much less than he did. Taylor is way out of touch if she invites people like him to her wedding.”
“Abusive attractive white men don’t get away with it in Hollywood,” said another person.
“They run most of the companies. Full of people who are their victims, know what they did, and can’t say anything because they need a job/health insurance, or they protect them because it benefits them.”
A third wrote: “As much as she likes to pretend she doesn’t, Taylor loves her abusers.”
Others were more succinct in their criticism, with comments such as:
“You are the company you keep,” “what you condone and promote,” and even “the trash that supports the trash.”
Brad was joined at the wedding by his new, much younger girlfriend, Ines De Ramon.
In further evidence that the media was happy regardless of the accusations against Pitt, most of the coverage focused not on his past scandals, but on the fact that he and Ennis are now “Instagram official.”
Fashion designer Lauren Zanoletti shared photos of the couple on her page, with the caption:
“My favorite fans @inesdrmn and Brad Pitt for an amazing moment in NYC.”
As for the future of Ines and Brad’s relationship, it looks like Taylor won’t be receiving a wedding invitation from the couple anytime soon.
“Ince is incredibly close to Brad’s family. They absolutely adore her and she’s been welcomed with open arms from the beginning,” a source told Page Six. “At this point, they basically consider her family and theirs.”
“But Brad has no plans to get married despite how close Ines is to everyone.”
Looks like Ennis may have dodged a bullet there.
