Ryan Seacrest was one of the few names in Hollywood who did not attend Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding. Although it wasn’t because he didn’t receive an invitation.

The Grammy winner and Super Bowl champion, who announced their engagement in August last year, married at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3 after nearly three years of dating.

During Monday’s episode of his morning radio show On Air with Ryan SeacrestSeacrest revealed that he was invited to the star-studded wedding and originally responded “yes,” but had to back out after Disney hired him to host its 250th Fourth of July special.

“It was a secret invitation to everyone who was invited. So when you were reporting on the wedding, I was screaming inside, and outside it was very quiet,” Seacrest told his co-hosts. “I RSVP’d, and then Disney hired me to do the July 4th 250 special on the third and fourth day, so I had to cancel.”

One of his co-hosts called it a “waste of an invitation.” Another suggested he should have done both.

“It wasn’t a waste,” Al American Idol The host responded. “I was actually so excited. I was kind of torn. I had gone through the minutes, and I couldn’t have done both. The actual wedding was in the afternoon. I had gone through the minutes! But I felt honored and happy when I was invited.”

Seacrest went on to reveal that he met Swift and Kelce at a restaurant after RSVPing for the first time.

“We talked about ‘the event’ because we couldn’t say it out loud,” Seacrest said. She was like, “Oh, it’s going to be so much fun.” We will have the best time! It’s going to be late.’ I said, ‘I can’t wait.’ I’m so excited.

That encounter was also when he first met the Kansas City Chiefs star. Meanwhile, Seacrest has known Swift since the early days of her career, when she was an up-and-coming country music artist, which made his cancellation even more disappointing.

He continued: “I said yes, saw them two weeks later to confirm, and then had to cancel.” “But I didn’t really have any choice. This is part of my job at Disney, to do these things.”
