Addressing the gathering at the Civic Technology Innovation Programme, Gupta said the initiative has emerged as one of the largest platforms in the country focused on solving urban challenges through technology and innovation. According to officials, the program has reached over a million youth from across India, attracting participation from students, innovators, programmers and entrepreneurs who have proposed solutions to pressing civic issues faced by Delhi and other urban centres.

From the large number of applicants, the top 60 teams were selected to provide practical and scalable solutions to challenges such as traffic congestion, waterlogging, air pollution, digital governance, waste management, and citizen services. Participants reviewed technology-based models and applications designed to improve the delivery of public services and enhance the daily experience of residents.

The Prime Minister said that many of these innovations will now move towards pilot implementation in collaboration with concerned government departments in Delhi. Officials associated with the program said the selected teams will receive expert mentorship, institutional support and a structured implementation roadmap to test their ideas on the ground and evaluate their long-term scalability.

“Delhi Next is not just a hackathon. It is a powerful platform that directly links the ideas and aspirations of youth to governance,” Gupta said during her speech. She added that the enthusiasm shown by the participants reflects the growing interest among young people in contributing to building the nation through technology and innovation.

Government officials noted that collaboration between the civil and technology sectors is increasingly seen as an effective approach to improving governance outcomes and ensuring faster, data-driven responses to urban problems. This initiative is expected to encourage increased participation among policymakers, innovators and citizens in developing sustainable solutions for the capital.

Gupta also thanked all the participants for their contribution and urged the young innovators to continue working towards achieving the vision of ‘Fixit Delhi’. She said that collaborative efforts between government institutions and the youth of the country can accelerate the process of transforming Delhi into a cleaner, smarter and more efficient city.
