BEING AMERICAN MEANS NOTHING: Standing in front of a Hindu temple, MAGA influencer criticizes children of H-1B visa holders ahead of July 4

A MAGA influencer shows off a Hindu temple and questions what it means to be an American if children of H-1B visa holders born in the US are citizens.

MAGA influencer Ilya Schiffer, known for his hatred of Indians, shot a video keeping a Texas Hindu temple in the background while commenting on a recent Supreme Court ruling upholding birthright citizenship.

Referring to the children in front of the temple, one MAGA influencer said the Supreme Court ruling makes them as American as everyone else who has lived in America for centuries — despite the fact that their parents came to the United States on H-1B visas, which are non-immigrant visas in nature.“This kind of raises an interesting question. If your father is not an American, he may be here on a temporary visa, he may be here on a green card, he may be just a resident and we don’t really know that, but if you have children here, those children are definitely citizens.”

It’s just asking the question on the Fourth of July: What are we celebrating? If we were celebrating independence from England we would have an American identity, but an American identity does not require blood, sweat, finances, tears or history.

All you have to do is be born on magical soil… and then the true American identity will no longer exist. “You don’t really know what you’re celebrating on the Fourth of July,” Schaefer said.

Schiffer wondered how the administration would then resolve the H-1B issue, and the TPS (Temporary Protected Status) issue if everyone born on US soil were a citizen, as it became clear that their parents would be allowed to remain in the US where it would not be possible to separate families.

Hate speech has received opposition from Indian society. “Ilya Schiffer stands in front of the 🛕 temple in Frisco, Texas, while photographing children, and announces that he won’t celebrate the Fourth of July because there are too many Indian children, children of H-1B workers, in America,” commentator Sandeep Neel wrote on X. “But he seems to have no problem cheating on a platform owned by a former H-1B holder.”The caption added: “He also says he doesn’t trust anyone with an ‘Indian wife’, like J.D. Vance, to hold public office. Osha Vance was born in the US, but Melania Trump was not. She’s an immigrant, yet he seems perfectly fine with that.”
