Prince Harry is said to be angry with King Charles III and his staff over the leak of information about his family’s upcoming visit to the UK, a development he believes puts his family’s security at risk.
According to the Daily Mail, the Duke of Sussex expressed frustration over how details of the planned trip were made public, creating potential vulnerabilities for his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children.According to the report, the 41-year-old became angry after it was reported that Harry, Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, were granted royal residency during their stay.
According to the post: “Harry is angry because the King’s aides leaked plans for the Sussexes to stay at Buckingham Palace for part of the visit.”
Security concerns frustrate Prince Harry
The report stated that an insider explained the specific nature of Harry’s concerns about the leaked information. “He feels this has put his family at risk because while they are protected by the security cordon when inside the palace, they are vulnerable once they leave,” the report claimed as it highlighted the practical implications of revealing residence details publicly.
Lack of trust and alleged “theatrics” create further tension
Despite his desire to reconcile with his father, Harry appears skeptical of the royal family’s intentions and approach to the visit. According to the report, there is a fundamental disconnect between what Harry is trying to achieve and how the palace is managing the situation. The report noted, “Harry really wants his children to see their grandfather. It is not clear how keen the king is to see them if it involves all this theatrics.”The report also expressed concern that the situation has deteriorated rather than improved since the initial plans were announced. “Unfortunately, what should have been an opportunity to build bridges led to further mistrust between the two sides,” they added, noting that the failure of communications undermined reconciliation efforts.
Prince Harry’s security requests have been denied
To complicate matters, Harry’s request for police protection for his family during the visit was denied.
A representative for Harry provided a statement to a major newspaper explaining his view on the obstacles facing the visit. The spokesman said: “The Duke continues to explore all available options to enable the visit to go ahead safely and give his children the opportunity to enjoy the UK.” The representative stressed that housing is not the central issue. “The issue was never housing.
The issue is whether appropriate and proportionate protective security is provided throughout the entire period of the visit.
The independent risk management board that RAVEC itself decided was necessary last November has not yet been formed. The spokesman explained that it is therefore difficult to understand how the proportionality of the current arrangements can be credibly maintained without this independent assessment.
The royal comment indicates that the visit has become a controversial issue
Royal observers have commented on the deteriorating situation surrounding the scheduled visit. Royal commentator Rebecca English offered a critical view on how family reunifications are handled. “For the sake of family harmony, the palace was perfectly happy with a peaceful, low-key visit,” she told the outlet.English concluded on a clear note about the general nature of the dispute.
“And yet, they turned it back into a TV series,” she added, noting that the situation had become unnecessarily complex and public rather than resolved privately. The conflicting accounts from both sides underscore the ongoing tension within the royal family regarding Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the monarchy, questions about security and accommodation arrangements and the basic willingness of both parties to move forward with reconciliation efforts.
