Did the makers of Ramayana intentionally release incomplete VFX? Creator who visited the set surprisingly claims: ‘They had better versions of those scenes’
A new claim about Nitish Tiwari’s ambitious mythological epic ‘Ramayana’ has sparked controversy online. Creator Dhruv Parikshit, who recently attended a special event for creators on the sets of the film, alleged that the makers deliberately released a version of Ranbir Kapoor’s Lord Rama glimpse that featured incomplete VFX to create conversations and publicity online.According to him, the strategy was aimed at creating buzz through audience discussion and criticism, resulting in what he described as “free marketing.”
The Creator shares his interaction with the film’s VFX team
After his visit, Dhruv posted pictures and videos from the event on social media. In response to a follower’s question about the visual effects, he initially stated that some of the footage shown during the visit was incomplete.“Yes, it was incomplete,” he wrote. “But the vision they had, I can’t really put it into words.
The scenes I saw there were on the level of the movie “Avatar”. I’m not exaggerating, they really cook something amazing. The character designs and world of Ramayana feel incredibly immersive.”He also claimed to have spoken to a VFX artist associated with the project, adding, “I also had the opportunity to speak to one of their VFX artists. He told me that the creators intentionally uploaded a watered-down version of Rama’s glimpse.”
They had better versions of those scenes, but they deliberately chose to publish the incomplete version. Why? Because online discussions and criticism translate into free marketing.

The original comment was removed after it went viral
Soon after, Dhruv deleted his original comment and replaced it with a clarification. He explained that work on visual effects is going well and praised the size of the film.“VFX pe kaam chal raha hai, kaafi accha kaam ho bhi gaya hai.
Humko kuch shots are incomplete Bhi dikhaye and I think vo has already completed ho chuke hain mahino pahle hi. What a great character design!! They are great! They are so cool. It’s like a very beautiful fantasy world, but in an Indian setting. “It will be a wonderful theatrical experience,” he wrote.Despite the clarification, screenshots of his previous statements quickly spread across social media, sparking speculation about the film’s promotional strategy.
The teaser of ‘Ramayana’ has left fans in splits
Earlier this year, the makers revealed the first glimpse of Ramayana, introducing Ranbir Kapoor in the role of Lord Rama. While many appreciated the scale and cinematic ambition of the teaser, others criticized parts of the visual effects and CGI and the appearance of some Rakshasa characters. The production team later assured audiences that the visual effects would continue to be improved prior to the film’s theatrical release.
Star-studded cast and release plan
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey and Sunny Deol in pivotal roles. The first part is scheduled to be shown in theaters before Diwali 2026, while the second part is expected to reach cinemas in 2027.
