Bollywood actress Vidya Balan delighted Malayalam cinema fans with her deep tribute to veteran actress Urvashi. The actor recreated the famous ‘Kadukuvara’ scene from the 2005 Malayalam drama ‘Achuvinte Amma’.The Instagram reel has since gone viral across social media. Within one day of its release, the video garnered more than 495,000 likes. Celebrities and fans alike flooded the comments section in appreciation for Vidya’s recreation of this unforgettable scene.
Vidya Balan recreates the famous comedy sequence
The ‘Urumi’ actor shared the video on Instagram, where he recreated the famous cooking sequence in which Urvashi’s character explains a recipe to Meera Yasmin using broken English.
Sharing the clip, she wrote: “A scene of one of my favorite actors, Urvashi Chichi. Chichi Kashamikanam, (“Please forgive me sister”).
Celebrities shower love on Vidya Balan’s performance
Actress Keerthy Suresh was among the first to react. “Tooo Cuteeee!! My favvvvv too,” she commented.Director Anjali Menon also enjoyed the performance and expressed her desire to see the actors together on screen. She wrote: “@therealurvasi @balanvidya you two need to work together!!.”

Released in 2005, Achuvinte Amma is directed by Sathyan Anthikkad and written by Ranjan Pramod from a story by Rajesh Jayaraman.
The family drama featured Urvashi, Meera, Jasmine and Naren in the lead roles, while Ilaiyaraaja composed the music.
The film marks Urvashi’s return to Malayalam cinema after a gap of six years. Her performance received much praise from audiences and critics and earned her the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress.‘Kadukuvara’ continues to enjoy cult status.
