Ciara Miller and Teffi Pessoa got into the whirlwind Love Island cinematic world this summer when they signed on as co-hosts of their sister series afternoon.
Tied as Love Island in the USA A companion show to unpack each week’s drama, Miller and Pessoa have what many former hosts have afternoon DON’T: Chemistry. Both women have gone viral in their own right, with their cast as co-hosts breathing life into the series, making it appointment TV alongside new episodes of Love Island in the USA.
What do Miller and Pessoa attribute to their newfound success? afternoon? “Women on the microphone” Summer house The star tells Hollywood Reporter. “I feel like, obviously, there’s an epidemic of men on podcasts, and this is our effort to root out that.”
“I think we’re both people with opinions, but we’re also not evil people, unless you give us a reason to be,” Pessoa adds. “Then I can get creative.”
Each week, Miller and Pessoa prepare afternoon Just like you and I, by watching new episodes. Although they were hosted Love IslandAfter the weekly show, they do not receive any special treatment and have to wait to continue the drama when the cut episodes are sent to them after They released them on the peacock.
“They send us episodes after they air in America,” Miller admits, Pessoa says. “We’re always a little late. So when an episode comes out, I won’t check the threads.”

afternoon It’s had a major revamp this year, and viewers are really enjoying the revamped look. It feels more in-depth and a bit like a podcast. What are refurbished items? afternoon Do you think it contributed to the success of the show?

Teffi Pessoa The friendship and laughter are undeniable.
Miller Yes, women on the microphone. I feel like, obviously, there’s an epidemic of men on podcasts, and so this is our effort to root out that. Yeah, I feel like you talk more than them, faster than them, outsmart them, and women are funnier than men, right? exactly.
Pessoa I think we’re both people with opinions, but we’re also not evil people, unless you give us a reason to be. Then I can get creative. But we are friends in real life, and we also have different viewpoints in reality TV. Being like Ciara in reality TV, I am addicted to it, because I am Nick and Jessica’s child. Newly married couples.
Miller It’s an encyclopedia of pop culture and all things reality TV. Like, I actually think she has a photographic memory.
Pessoa I hope.
Miller No, I think you do, though.
Pessoa Thank you. But I think we have great chemistry, and I think we’re funny.
Miller Yes, we have jokes.
Pessoa We got the jokes.
Miller I got some jokes.
Pessoa Do you know what it is? We sting a little. Oh, we love us a little.
Miller You know? Silly geese.
Pessoa There aren’t enough geese out there, and we come from a long line of silly geese. I think there are a lot of people on the internet now who know that trolling gets a lot of views. And I would never judge anyone for the way they pay their bills, but I think there aren’t a lot of people online talking about what they like, and I’m tired of hearing what people don’t like. So, I think that’s also an effort that we’re trying to make, where I don’t want to piss anyone off. I don’t want to talk about what I don’t like. Let’s talk about what we love and still humanize people, but you can humanize someone and make fun of them and still hold them accountable, and I think we dance that dance well. Pessoa a period. Ciara Team. #TeamCiara, I’ll start with that.
What is the shooting schedule like? afternoon? afternoon It’s out on Saturday, but what’s the week leading up to its release like?
Miller Lots of studying, lots of lying in the sun.
Pessoa Lots of lying in the sun and studying.
Miller Lots of catching up on episodes. I don’t let her talk to me about previous episodes. Because she will do it every week [try]. I say, we have to record a whole show about this, so don’t tell me what you think on Tuesday, so save your opinions.
Pessoa We show on Fridays at 10am.
Miller We have the magic, and then when we sit down, we discuss it for the first time. I take notes on my phone as I watch it.
Pessoa And I don’t do that.
Miller Because she has a photographic memory, and I don’t.
Pessoa But we start at about 3:30 [p.m.]then we usually sit down, because we love our partners, Cuervo Tequila, and do plugs for them, and then we wrap up around 9pm, and then we don’t talk to each other in the car on the way home.
Miller We’ve said it all.
Pessoa Really, to the editor’s credit, we talk a lot, and it’s still a smooth show.
Miller And people were saying, “Ciara, you’re talking about her.” We literally talk so much that they have to know where to cut things off, because we don’t shut up.
Pessoa We are not silent. But I also hate it, when people say, “Oh, you’re talking to each other” — haven’t you ever seen two girls excited to see each other at lunch? Shut up. whatever. I also know that no one is talking to me. are you kidding? (He laughs.) from? Literally, are you crazy? What are you talking about? She’s not talking to me, I’ll let her have a say.
Miller No, literally, I’m fighting for my life sometimes (He laughs). I wanted to put that on threads someday.
Pessoa No one has talked about me since 1998.
Like every new season of Love Island Come out, fans have more and more to say. This year, there was conversation about fans believing that votes could have been rigged, specifically in the case of Sol and Gabriel being dumped. What do you think of fans who think voting or dumping may be rigged?
Pessoa Well, I think Americans were saying that with every vote. There is something wrong with this electoral college.
Miller But, you know, no, I don’t think so [votings are rigged.] It seems like a very low risk of voter fraud. But who are we?
Pessoa I think NBC will rig the vote so they can keep the $100k (He laughs), so do not give it up. a period. But I don’t think this is fake at all. I think the production is very fair, to be honest. There are some people we don’t want to see go, and unfortunately…
Miller If someone rigged the election, I feel like B613 could figure it out.
You both have experience navigating the whirlwind of social media. When you meet the Dumped Islanders afternoon As they prepare to enter post-villa life, is there any advice you can share with them, or would you rather not give them advice and let them navigate as they see fit?
Pessoa I always tell them don’t let people tell you who you are.
Miller It is also difficult to give advice, because you really have to go through it to know the pros and cons. But I always say, keep the friends you have from the beginning. Like, they’ll keep you grounded, they’ll tell you everything you need to know, and the Internet is not a real place. Although people have problems Some people are anti-social with you, but they don’t know you, so keep that in mind.
Pessoa We’re also sometimes the first friendly faces to not produce it [dumped Islanders] Look, and we remember that these kids are between 24 and 25 years old…
Miller Yes, they are children.
Pessoa So, we try to be like, “Hey, you’re safe here. We’re going to talk, and we’re not going to make you look like this, like a villain,” you know.
Miller But we also don’t come here with pitchforks, and their perspective is valid. Obviously we can push and pull a little bit, but at the end of the day, they lived that experience, and we didn’t.
Pessoa The microphone is dangerous enough; We don’t have to do anything.
Season 8 is coming to an end. Who are your favorite couples or islanders at the moment, and is there a couple you think will definitely make it to the finale?
Pessoa Of course I do!
Miller Brine! We are huge Prinity fans. I’m actually a big fan of Anya and Karl. I hope they can get past this.
Pessoa We want Anya to be with someone who wants her, and she wants her too, so if that’s not the point…
Miller Right, that’s right. I’m really interested to see what Melanie and Sincere do, you know, what happens after movie night.
Pessoa You have been melancholy and honest in many scenarios.
Miller Oh, my God.
Pessoa This is 25.

Miller We actually didn’t do that. I just want to tell you that they send us the episodes after they air in America.
Pessoa Yes, we just get the link.
Miller So, we’re honestly behind.
Pessoa We always back this up, because we don’t have VPNs, so we’re always a little late. So when the episode comes out, I won’t check the topics.
Miller Yes, you can’t even get into Threads because the clips are everywhere.
Pessoa I’m like, “Ciara, he came out of the cake?!”
Do you think there are any moments that weren’t shown in the first Movie Night? He owns Will it be shown in the second part on Thursday?
Pessoa I feel they are all dangerous.
Miller KC should have another department there. Corbyn should have another department there. KC and Sincere need to have partners, but that’s my opinion. But we’ll see.
We are nearing the end Love Island Season 8, what are your plans next?Love Island afternoon? Is reality TV in your future? Ciara, we know you do Dancing with the stars.
Pessoa I’ll be in the front row at Dancing with the stars With a t-shirt that says “Dance Ciara, Dance.” They’ll think it’s like a souvenir shirt. (He laughs.) I don’t think I have any reality TV aspirations.
Miller It will be marked safe.
Pessoa I will be marked safe. But when I’m in my 50s, maybe I’ll be a real housewife in a city. So, like a few years after Ciara.
Miller I’m just trying to get back to America.
Pessoa She is trying to get back to her cat, Jasper.
Miller Obviously I did Dancing with the stars. I have to go to the gym, because that was my goal for Fiji.
Pessoa I’d love to see you in, like, special forces. That will be fun.
Miller I don’t do that.
Pessoa But I think it will be a lot of fun. Not for me; I never want to do this, but I would like to see you.
