“The upgraded three-class Boeing 777-300ER is designed with eight suites in First Class, 40 fully-flat beds in Business Class and 280 seats in Economy Class, representing a significant increase in premium capacity over the current B787-8 on this route, which has 28 Business Class seats and 241 Economy Class seats,” the airline said.

Air India said the luxury private suites in first class will offer leather-upholstered seats that can be converted into fully-flat beds, privacy doors, an elevated floor and dining experience, and personalized service.

The upgraded business class product will also offer fully lie-flat beds offering enhanced comfort, space and privacy, along with enhanced soft product elements, it said.

Air India, for the first time on this route, will provide internet connectivity via Wi-Fi.

Passengers will be offered refreshing food and beverages, including carefully curated menus featuring the best international cuisine alongside Indian favourites, complemented by a selection of fine wines and spirits, the airline said.

Passengers will get enhanced in-flight entertainment, with a richer and more diverse content library across movies, TV shows, music and more, catering to global tastes, Air India said.

“Air India currently operates 4 weekly non-stop flights between Delhi and Melbourne and is scheduled to operate 7 weekly flights on the route from September 1, 2026,” it said.

“The carrier’s service between Delhi and Melbourne provides passengers with convenient connections in the same station via Delhi to destinations across Europe, including London Heathrow, Frankfurt, Paris, Rome, Milan, Zurich and others,” she added.

To be sure, Air India also operates non-stop flights between Delhi and Sydney, enabling similarly seamless connections to and from destinations in the UK and the rest of Europe.
