“Thank You, Next” is one of Ariana Grande’s most memorable songs. Mentioning some of her ex-boyfriends, the song went viral upon its release and remains a favorite among many. So much so that it made the official lineup for her ongoing “Eternal Sunshine” tour.
However, at one of her recent performances, the singer cheekily changed some of the lyrics of one of her exes, who was there to cheer the “Hate That I Made You Love Me” singer on from the VIP rooms.

While performing in Austin, Texas, the singer performed her hit song on stage, however, she ended up changing the lyrics slightly as a tribute to Ricky Alvarez, one of her former backup dancers, whom she dated from April 2015 to July 2016.
Her 2018 song originally contained the lyrics “I wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh.”However, for her performance tonight on the “Eternal Sunshine” tour, the singer changed the lyrics to “I wrote some songs about Ricky / I know he still got my back.” The show was held at the Moody Center. Alvarez enjoyed the trend after videos from the concert showed him dancing and swaying to the singer’s music while attending the concert in the VIP section area.
This wasn’t the first time she changed the lyrics herself. At a concert a few days ago, the singer sang, “I wrote some songs about Ricky/And they still kinda slap” instead of the original version.Besides, Grande and Alvarez have been hanging out and seeing each other for a while, and they were even spotted having lunch together in public, PEOPLE reported.
