At the award ceremony, Shekhar asked Farah whether Sajid was right or wrong.
“Sajid has always been my responsibility.”
Before Farah answered directly, she explained why she immediately stood by her younger brother.“I have a child to take care of since I was five years old. Sajid has always been my responsibility,” she said, explaining that protecting him comes naturally to her.Talking about the incident itself, Farah explained that her relationship with Ashutosh Gowariker has always remained warm.“I feel for Ashutosh and we are very old friends. The only thing I had was that if he was feeling bad, he could come backstage and talk to Sajid.
We were shocked because Ashu is actually a very close friend of ours. And it still is.”
Roasting should have limits
The conversation then turned to the growing culture of celebrity roasting. Farrah admitted that she enjoys a sense of humor but believes there are limits.“I love roasting, but it’s not for our country. It’s not part of our culture. Our culture is not about inviting a guest and insulting them.”She added that while she roasts people on her own show, she ensures it is done with respect.
“I have noticed that you roast people with so much decorum that the person you are roasting enjoys it, as does the audience,” Shekhar told her.Farrah agreed that humor works best when it remains gentle and not hurtful.
