New Delhi: Cricket seems to run in Sooryavanshi’s family. Days after making headlines with a century in a practice match, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s younger brother Ashirvad once again impressed with the bat, smashing a brilliant 168 off just 119 balls in another dominant display. The 10-year-old, who started playing cricket just six months ago, represented Rishav’s XI in a practice match and torched the competition with an attacking knock that included 19 fours and six sixes. He scored at a batting average of 141.18 and continued to display the fearless approach that had already gained him attention in domestic cricket circles.

His latest hundred comes soon after he announced himself with 103 off 87 balls in his first match for Tajpur Cricket Academy.

That innings included 20 boundaries and six boundaries, underscoring his natural stroke-making ability. The young man’s rapid rise did not go unnoticed. Vaibhav, who is currently in Ireland with the Indian team for the T20I series, shared an Instagram story to celebrate his younger brother’s latest achievement.

Ashirwad’s story is particularly noteworthy because he only recently started playing cricket. Despite having less than a year of formal training, he has already achieved several major results.

While comparisons with Vaibhav are inevitable, the two brothers have different styles. Vaibhav is a left-handed batsman and can also spin with the ball, while Ashirvad bats right-handed and bowls at medium pace. The youngster sees himself as an all-rounder and is starting to carve out his own identity on the cricket field.
