The defense lawyer representing Siya Goyal’s friend said on Tuesday that there is no concrete evidence against Chetan Chaudhary, who is involved in the Ketan Agrawal murder case.
Advocate Ram Shahane, who represents the accused, said Chetan Chaudhary was just a friend of Siya Goyal, adding that the allegations against him were “not concrete in nature”.
Siya Goyal, 20, and her boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary, 22, were arrested in the murder case of businessman Ketan Vishal Agarwal in Pune on June 18. The case, which was initially believed to be an accidental death, turned out to be a murder plot as details were revealed and made the police rethink the incident.

CCTV footage from the hillsides, a hoodie and over 2,000 calls exchanged between the accused have strengthened the allegations against the duo. Police also said that the two confessed to their crimes.
What Chetan Chaudhary’s lawyer said
Advocate Ram Shahane, the lawyer representing Chetan Choudhary, said the FIR in the case does not describe Choudhary’s role and that the case contains inconclusive allegations.
“If we look at the FIR, the allegations against him (Chetan Chaudhary) are not concrete. His role has not been described. It is only said that he is his (Sia’s) friend. He was involved in this case,” the lawyer told PTI.
The defense counsel said that Chetan Chowdhury is just a friend of the main accused and he has been implicated on this basis.
He told the news agency, “We have argued that the role of the accused does not play in this. How was he involved in this? This is the defense case. The case is in its initial stages. The police are investigating the case and have demanded seven days’ detention.”
What is the role of Chetan Chaudhary
When Ketan Agarwal went to Lohagad Fort in Lonavala with Siya Goyal on June 18, Chetan Chaudhary had reached the site before Monday, police said.
During the investigation, police investigated CCTV footage at the foothills and identified Chaudhary wearing a hoodie on a hot summer day.

“When we checked the temperature on June 18, the temperature was 33 degrees Celsius that morning. While checking CCTV footage from the hillsides, we noticed a person wearing a jacket with his hood up and also wearing headphones. This raised suspicions as such clothing was unusual considering the weather conditions,” Senior Police Inspector Dinesh Tayadi of Lonavala Rural Police told HT.
The police also revealed that Chaudhary also tried to avoid detection by leaving his mobile phone at his Kondhwa residence instead of carrying it to the fort.
Investigators tracked CCTV footage and then interrogated both Chaudhary and Siya. Police said that during interrogation, the two confessed to committing the crime. The duo was sent to police custody for seven days.
