Delhi is gearing up for a largely pleasant week as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light rain and thunderstorms at the start of the week and partly cloudy skies till Saturday, June 27.

On Sunday, the national capital is expected to witness partly cloudy skies with the possibility of very light rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kilometers per hour, with speeds reaching 60 kilometers per hour. The maximum temperature is likely to remain between 35°C and 37°C, while the minimum temperature is expected to hover around 28.8°C.

Similar conditions may persist on Monday as well, with the IMD forecasting cloudy skies, light rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds during the afternoon or evening. Temperatures are expected to range between 37°C and 39°C during the day, and between 26°C to 28°C at night.

The rain is expected to stop from Tuesday, but the sky will remain cloudy until Saturday, according to the IMD weekly bulletin.

Daytime temperatures are likely to gradually rise over the week, with maximum temperatures expected to remain between 37°C and 40°C, while minimum temperatures are expected to remain in the 25°C to 29°C range.

Weather forecast across India for tomorrow-

North India

Light to moderate rain is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, while scattered rain, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are expected across Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan, according to the IMD. Strong winds reaching speeds of up to 60 km per hour may be accompanied by thunderstorms in some areas.

East India

Rainfall is expected in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. Heavy to very heavy rain is likely at isolated places in sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, while thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds may occur over Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha.

West India

Monsoon conditions are set to intensify over Konkan and Goa, where widespread rainfall is expected. Gujarat, Maharashtra, Marathwada and Saurashtra-Kutch are also likely to receive scattered rain, with thunderstorms possible over parts of Maharashtra.

South India

Widespread rainfall is likely in the coastal states of Kerala, Lakshadweep and Karnataka, with heavy rainfall expected at isolated places. Telangana is expected to witness more widespread monsoon rains, while Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema may witness scattered rains accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds.
