The HBO adaptation, which is said to be a seven-season extravaganza, with each season taking up one novel in JK Rowling’s epic book series, was always planning to “go deeper” than the films.“The scope of the production, the detail, the precision of what they go through and what they’ve built takes theater to a whole different level,” JB Perrett, head of global broadcast and gaming at WBD, said last year.“So, when you think about the love of this franchise and what you can do in a series: You can go deeper, you can tell more of the story, you can tell more pieces that you couldn’t capture in a two-hour movie… I really think this is the streaming event of the decade,” Perrett said, according to Variety.
