Benz representative denies viral claims
In a lengthy post shared on X, Raghava Lawrence strongly rejected allegations that he referred to people as dogs. He stressed that he has always been highly respected by the public and his fans.“Hello everyone, I would like to clear up a misunderstanding regarding my recent press interview. I have always said that my fans and people are equal to my mother. Some are spreading fake news that I refer to people as dogs, which is completely untrue and misleading,” he wrote. He added, “All I meant is that when we move to a new home, it takes time to understand the surroundings and even the dogs in the area, their habits and what they like to eat. I am not such a heartless person to call people dogs, whom I have great respect for and consider equal to my mother. I was just talking about understanding the new environment takes time to get used to and I did not mention people anywhere. I request everyone to watch the entire video and really understand what I mean.”
Thank you for your understanding and support #serviceisgod.”
Fans come out to support
After the clarification, many fans defended Raghava Lawrence and argued that his original statements had been taken out of context. One supporter commented: “You should have turned the media to the dogs…then they will shut their mouths sir…they know you are a strong candidate and then they want to discredit you…all sold out media.”Another fan wrote: “Sir, I saw your last interview. There was no misunderstanding by people in fact, your interview was deliberately misled by the press and media.”
There is nothing wrong with your words, even dogs can understand your words clearly and your example is photographed for better understanding.”The controversy emerged during Raghava Lawrence’s interaction with journalists after his meeting with his fans. During the conversation, he spoke about the increasing calls for him to enter into active politics.Speaking on the issue, Raghava Lawrence, as quoted by News 18, said, “I was thinking whether I should enter politics or not.
After my video, many people asked me to get involved in politics.”During the same media interaction, Raghava Lawrence spoke about the challenges faced by the newly elected governments. Using a family analogy, he said: “When you move into a new house, only then will you realize the problems inside it.”Another statement later became the focus of controversy. “Even street dogs bark at a newcomer on the road,” Lawrence said.
Some can be calmed down with biscuits, others prefer biryani.”While supporters took the comment as a metaphor for the resistance newcomers face, critics felt the analogy was inappropriate and open to multiple interpretations.Coming to the work front, Raghava Lawrence will next be seen in the film ‘Benz’.
