Courtside celebrity fashion fuels some of the most viral moments of the NBA Finals

Thanks to cool girl luxury brands like Aviator Nation and Veronica Beard, high-end team gear is slowly making its way onto arenas, but nothing can be quite as prepared for the full fashion show coming down Celebrity Row for this NBA season. Between the Canadian tuxedos styled by Chalamet and Jenner and the smart shirts Alana Haim has designed for Taylor Swift, Mariska Hargitay, Estee Haim, and herself, the 2026 season, the Finals, is changing the way we think about traditional sporting goods.

Chalamet, a Knicks regular, has been sporting a head-to-toe Chrome Hearts look all season. For Game 3, the actor swapped his staple Mini Uggs for a pair of custom-designed Chrome Hearts in collaboration with Timberland, another brand generating a big presence on the court. The morning after Game 4, OG Knicks fan Spike Lee posted a photo of his custom Timbs on Instagram, which is fitting given the legendary director fronted Timberland’s fall/winter 2025 campaign, “Tip of an Icon.”

And while neither Chalamet nor Lee shoes are widely available, Timberland does sell a pair of Classic Timbs in navy blue Nubuck that fit the Knicks perfectly.

Staying on the Timmy train for another moment, the actor’s classic influences mean he’s not always on the nose with his courtside wardrobe. In the May 6 game, Chalamet wore an orange Avirex moto jacket for the Knicks. Nowhere does it say “Nix”. However, the designer’s ’90s discovery is undoubtedly an ode to his team.

Now, let’s talk about the historic Game 4. While famous Knicks fans have been attending the championship series by the dozens, Wednesday’s game took the A-listers — and the fashion moments that accompany them — to a whole new level. Two words: Taylor Swift.

In keeping with the Haim sisters and Hargitay, Swift’s smart, homemade T-shirt reads “Stevie Knicks,” while others read “Knickelback” and “Knicole Kidman.” Less than 24 hours later, they’ve already sparked a number of scams on Etsy.

As for Swift’s full look, she paired her shirt with a pair of jeans depending on the region, and unsurprisingly, sizes sold out quickly at Shopbop.
