Donald Trump is feeling increasingly frustrated with the people around him after a series of political setbacks and internal disagreements, according to a report by Politico. The 79-year-old president is said to be “frustrated with everyone, from his own team to the Senate,” a prominent MAGA figure close to the White House told POLITICO.According to the report, the anger follows recent defeats and resistance from Republicans on key issues. These include opposition to a proposed $1.8 billion “arms control” fund, resistance to a $1 billion security allocation tied to a planned White House ballroom project, and GOP leaders’ refusal to fire a nonpartisan senator despite his demands.“He’s a person who lied, and people don’t realize the level of his lying,” a MAGA source told Politico.
“He doesn’t like to be put in a box. When you put him in a box, Trump will blow up the box.”The setbacks increased frustration within the White House. The Justice Department blocked the $1.8 billion compensation fund, while Senate Republicans removed the $1 billion additional security provision from a broader $70 billion immigration and law enforcement bill.Tensions also rose last month after Trump criticized Senate Majority Leader John Thune and called for the impeachment of Senator Elizabeth MacDonough, following a ruling that funding for chamber security could not be included in the immigration package.
Despite the resistance, Trump continues to push for more controversial appointments, including loyalist Bill Bolt as director of national intelligence, a role that requires extensive national security experience. The White House defended the nomination. “Bill Bolt is a great choice, and he will do a fantastic job,” White House spokesman Davis Engel told Politico, calling the president’s team “world-class.”
“The report also describes the hard-line inner circle around Trump, who is said to rely on a small group of loyal advisers, including Bolte, personal advisor Boris Epshtein, and his aide Natalie Harp. Harp was nicknamed the “Human Printer” for carrying a portable printer used to produce the president’s favorite online publications.“The knives are out in some capacity,” one White House ally added. “I mean people stab people.
Like, it’s chaos. Chaos is like crawling backwards.”Trump also reacted after his endorsed candidate in the Iowa gubernatorial primary, Randy Feenstra, lost the race. “He’s really angry about the Iowa endorsement — like he’s really angry,” according to a White House ally, adding that Trump blamed advisers for pushing him toward the decision.
