R Madhavan expresses his gratitude after being honored with Padma Shri

Actor R Madhavan is all set to receive the prestigious Padmra Shri award in recognition of his contribution to Indian cinema. Recently, the Indian actor shared his happiness and gratitude for the honour.

R Madhavan took to his Instagram stories and reposted a post from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Alongside the post, he added emojis of folded hands to express his respect and gratitude for receiving the award.

The actor known as “Maddy” appeared in more than 1,200 television episodes and later successfully transitioned into the world of cinema. He has worked in more than 75 films in his career in Tamil, Hindi and other language projects.He started acting in the early 1990s and has gained great popularity since then. His performances in multiple different films helped him become one of the most popular actors in the country. Additionally, he has been appointed as the President of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Association in 2023.

Other award winners

Many well-known names in Indian cinema will also receive Padma honours. Malayalam star Mammootty has been cast as Padma Bhushan.

Telugu cinema veteran Gadde was also selected for the Padma Shri award for his contribution to the film industry.Indian President Draupadi Murmu will present Padma awards to 65 eminent persons during the second civil investiture ceremony on June 23.

On the work front, R Madhavan was last seen on the big screens in Aditya Dhar’s two-part films, ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, starring Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi and others.R Madhavan’s performance as Ajay Sanyal as the head of the Intelligence Bureau received huge praise from the audience.
