The sister of Anshul Kuncha, a 28-year-old Indian man who was shot and killed in Philadelphia on Friday, said he never wanted to reach the United States but his family sent him anyway. The Hyderabad native was allegedly called to a vacant house to deliver pizza, where he was ambushed and killed.

Anshul’s sister sought justice and appealed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to return her brother’s remains.

She also shared a message for parents who are thinking of sending their children to the United States for further education and building their careers.

“He didn’t want to go to the US, but we sent him… and (now) look what he ended up with. This is a message to all the parents who are sending their children to the US, don’t send your children to the US,” she told news agency PTI.

“He was trapped”

Anshul’s sister further claimed that the incident was clearly a plot to kill her brother.

According to American media reports, Concha worked as a pizza delivery man on weekends as an additional source of income.

He was called to deliver pizza to a vacant house at Raymond Rosen Homes, an apartment complex in Philadelphia.

In surveillance footage captured by the Philadelphia Housing Authority, the victim was seen walking with the pizza. Then he was followed by two people wearing dark clothes and carrying backpacks.

“It was a trap. It was to kill him. I don’t know what they gained from it or what their intentions were. They took my brother and killed him,” she told PTI, adding that his family was told that he was shot in the head three times and left on the road.

She added: “We have no doubt… it is a trap. According to American media reports, there appeared to be two gunmen wearing black masks and carrying backpacks.”
