'Drishyam 3' Box Office Collections on Day 17: Mohanlal film jumps 62.5 percent; Total overseas crosses stand at Rs 111 crore

Mohanlal’s thriller ‘Drishyam 3’ continued its steady theatrical journey and saw a healthy jump in its collections over the weekend. The film recorded stronger numbers on Saturday and maintained its stability despite entering the third week of its release.

‘Drishyam 3’ registers a strong jump on day 17

According to Sacnilk, ‘Drishyam 3’ has collected a net collection of Rs 1.30 crore on Day 17. This number represents a 62.5 percent increase compared to its Day 16 earnings of Rs 80 lakh.The group was recorded across 761 performances. After the latest update, the film’s total net collection in India has reached Rs 104.73 crore. The total collection in India currently stands at Rs 121.52 crore. ‘Drishyam 3’ collected Rs 10 lakh overseas on day 17.The film’s overseas gross collection has risen to Rs 111.35 crore. The total global collection has now reached Rs 232.87 crore.The film had earlier completed its first week with Rs 81.95 crore. During the second week, it added another Rs 20.68 crore to its total.

Occupancy improves during subsequent showings

The Malayalam version recorded an overall occupancy of 37.58 percent. Morning shows started with smaller numbers before gradually increasing throughout the day.

Night shows recorded the highest attendance with 41.50 percent occupancy.State figures also showed that Kerala remains the strongest market for the film on the 17th.

George Kutty’s inspiration revealed

Meanwhile, director Jeethu Joseph recently spoke about the inspiration behind George Kutty’s character during a chat with The Hollywood Reporter.The director revealed that many aspects of the distinctive character were influenced by his father.

According to Jeethu Joseph, his father was an agricultural worker before he later became an MLA.
