Renault India today announced an ARAI certified fuel efficiency figure of 19.41 kmpl for the Duster’s 1.0-litre Turbo TCe 100 petrol engine, making it the most fuel-efficient powertrain currently available in the SUV range.
The mileage exceeds that of the 1.3-litre turbo petrol models, which deliver 17.75kmpl with the manual gearbox and 18.45kmpl with the automatic transmission. The 1.0-litre engine is available in Authentic, Evolution and Techno variants at a price range between Rs 10.49 lakh and Rs 13.49 lakh (ex-showroom).On the design front, Renault has made India-specific design changes to the new generation Duster while maintaining the overall silhouette of the third-generation global model.
The India-spec SUV gets redesigned headlights with eyebrow-shaped LED daytime running lights that also double as turn indicators. It features a revised grille with a prominent Duster badge, replacing the Renault logo, along with a front bumper that uses a prominent silver surround and pixel-shaped fog lights.
From the side, the Duster carries black cladding over the wheel arches and lower body, C-pillar-mounted rear door handles, and functional roof rails.
At the back, the triangular taillights are connected by an LED lighting strip that is not present in the global version. Additional changes include a roof-mounted spoiler, a decorative license plate and a black rear bumper with a silver insert.Moving inside, the interior of the Duster has been extensively redesigned to suit the Indian market. The India-spec variant features an all-new dashboard design with a dual-screen layout, soft-touch surfaces and revised decorative elements.
The cabin uses silver accents, contrasting green stitching, a custom button panel on the center console, an adjustable front armrest with storage space and more. Features include a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, a power liftgate, 6-way power and ventilated front seats, 48-color ambient lighting, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, multiple driving modes and more.Safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchors, a 360-degree camera, an electric parking brake, disc brakes on all four wheels, and Level 2 ADAS features.The new Renault Duster is available with three engine options – a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine with 100 PS and 160 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The other engine is a 1.3-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine with 163 PS and 280 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed DCT or a 6-speed manual. There’s also a larger 1.8-litre 109bhp hybrid petrol engine paired with a 49bhp electric motor and a 20bhp hybrid starter generator (HSG), paired with a 1.4kWh (280V) battery.
Together, this configuration delivers a combined system power of 160 PS and 172 Nm.
