The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is gearing up to hold a major protest in Delhi on Saturday. Ahead of the protest and the arrival of party founder Abhijit Debaki from the US, the CJP gained new supporters, including many prominent names.
The protest was called to demand the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, which led to the cancellation of the May 3 examination and the announcement of a re-examination on June 21.
They are among the prominent names who came forward to support the CJP recently Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, actor Prakash Raj and Uddhav Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray.
Wangchuk announced that he would join the June 6 protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi if Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan did not resign by June 5. Wangchuk said he was joining the protest because of broader concerns about the state of education in India and the way education reforms are being implemented.

Actor Prakash Raj also extended his support to the movement. In a post on X, he said he was trying to reach Delhi on June 6 despite being busy shooting a film and asked young supporters to attend the protest. Prakash Raj described the campaign as “the most relevant cockroach movement” and said he wanted to show solidarity with the cause.
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray also threw his weight behind the party. “What is their demand? They want Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. Who will oppose that? Where is Nirmala Sitharaman?” Thackeray remarked, highlighting the perceived administrative vacuum and lack of ministerial accountability amid the festering controversy between NEET-UG and CBSE.
Deepki returns to India
Before the protest, Debke said he had left the United States and was traveling to India to participate in the June 6 demonstration, according to his social media post. In his post on X, Dipke said he did He “left his faith in the hands of the Constitution” as he returned to India to protest. The movement had earlier asked its supporters to gather at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi to receive Debaki upon his arrival from the United States.
However, on Thursday, the AKP urged its supporters They did not come to the airport, saying the response to the call had become much larger than expected. According to the party, thousands of people showed interest in joining the reception at the airport and supporting the demand for Pradhan’s resignation.

Meanwhile, a Panipat based advocate Sudhir Jakhar claims to be CJP president and has decided to support Debke’s protest at Jantar Mantar. The decision to support the protest was taken during a meeting chaired by farmer leader Gurnam Singh Charuni in Kurukshetra.
Sharoni praised Debke’s initiative and said that this step deserves appreciation. Although Sharuni said he would not be able to attend due to the farmers’ union’s program in Haridwar from June 6 to 8, he added that workers from his organization would be sent to Jantar Mantar to join the protest.
Jacquard said he did not fully agree with Dibek’s view that the CJP should remain merely a pressure group. According to Jacquard, meaningful change requires getting into politics and building a political movement rather than just acting as a pressure group.
With support now coming from public figures like Sonam Wangchuk, Prakash Raj, Sudhir Jakhar and Gurnam Singh Sharuni, the CJP protest appears to have wider support ahead of Debki’s arrival in India and the June 6 demonstration at Jantar Mantar.
