YSRCP spokesperson Karthik Yellapragada said that on the directions of party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, party leaders and cadres started the campaign under the slogan ‘Two years of backstabbing’ in different parts of the state.

“Protests were organized at all mandal headquarters across the state. As part of the programme, party leaders and cadres organized the demonstrations by carrying copies of the LDF-led coalition’s election manifesto, six super promises and surety bonds bearing photographs and signatures of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, which were distributed to households ahead of the elections,” it said.

He said that these documents were symbolically burned at major road intersections to highlight what the party described as the coalition government’s betrayal of public trust.

Yellapragada said that after two years of coming to power, the Naidu government has failed to implement several key promises that helped it gain power. He alleged that the coalition has abandoned farmers, women, youth, students and other sections of society due to its failure to provide its guarantees.

He said that the campaign aims to expose the widening gap between the coalition’s promises and its actual performance in government. “Protests will continue across towns and constituency headquarters until June 12 as part of YSRCP’s efforts to hold the government accountable and seek justice for the people,” he said.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday, June 4, 2024, described it as a historic day that will remain etched in the history of the state, marking two years since the people gave what he described as an unprecedented mandate to rebuild Andhra Pradesh.

In a post on website He noted that two years had passed since the issuance of the historic electoral ruling, and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to achieving the aspirations of the people.

Naidu said that electoral victory was not just a path to political power, but was a “huge responsibility” entrusted by the people for the reconstruction and progress of the state. He stressed that his government is constantly working to shoulder this responsibility by striving to fulfill the hopes and expectations of citizens.

He expressed his gratitude to all who supported the government and reiterated his commitment to the development agenda in the state.
