Hollywood’s beloved wearable health device from Oura just got a whole lot more stylish — 40 percent, to be exact. Oura Ring 5, available online starting June 4, is officially the world’s smallest smart ring: thinner, lighter and 40 percent smaller than its predecessor, the Oura Ring 4.

But make no mistake: While the new model is about half the size of the previous model, it has longer battery life (six to nine days versus five to eight) and more precise sensors for more accuracy when tracking more than 50 health metrics, including heart rate, sleep, stress, fitness, and women’s health data. While the Oura Ring 4 is water-resistant, the Oura Ring 5 is water-resistant.

1-year protection plan included with purchase.

Returning to aesthetics, Oura’s latest offering comes in six finishes: silver ($399), a redesigned gold color ($499), a new deep pink ($499), black ($399), brushed silver ($499), and a matte black color called Stealth ($499). Each ring comes with a size-specific charger and cable, but users can also get an on-the-go charging case for $99. The compact device holds up to five charges, making it ideal for avid travellers.

With the decline of the Oura 5th Generation ring comes a significant drop in prices for the 4th Generation rings. Both the Oura Ring 4 and Oura Ring 4 Ceramic, on its colorful sister model, are up to 20 percent off, while supplies last.

In terms of ring size, the Oura Ring 5 fits differently than other models (which also fit differently than traditional ring sizes), so when placing an order, customers can choose a free size selection rather than selecting a size right away. Once the kit is received in the mail, the wearer will select their desired finger (Oura recommends index, middle, or ring for optimal performance), test fit and then confirm their desired ring size online.
