Varun Dhawan drew criticism from social media users on Wednesday after he visited a temple in Mumbai, where he was seen wearing casual clothes, shorts and a jacket. Footage circulated online showed him leaving the temple with a tilak on his forehead.

However, the film also generated controversy in the run-up to its release. Producer Vashu Bhagnani’s company Puja Entertainment approached the Bombay High Court and filed a case against Tips Industries Limited, Ramesh Taurani, Kumar S Taurani and director David Dhawan.
Bhagnani alleged that the popular song ‘Chunari Chunari’, which originally featured in his 1999 production ‘Biwi No.1’, was incorporated into ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ without necessary permission.

At the trailer launch of ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’, Tips Music’s Taurani was questioned about the ongoing legal dispute. He seemed unfazed, dismissing concerns and ensuring that everything was under control. “There’s no problem with that. Everything we had was arranged,” he said. He added: “And everything that comes after that will also be resolved. So, there is no problem. It is a subsidiary matter of the jurisdiction of the judiciary. So, we are dealing with it.”
