Marking a pivotal moment for the Patanjali family, Ayurvedic expert Acharya Balkrishna was honored with the ‘I Am the Peacekeeper Award – Health Champion Award 2026’ at the Billionaires for Peace 2026 conference held in Mumbai on May 21, 2026. This award recognizes his work in promoting Ayurveda, global health, humanitarian service and holistic healthcare and underscores the importance of Ayurveda. The growing global influence and value of wellness for the future of healthcare.

This recognition comes amid the increasing global visibility of Ayurveda and India’s traditional systems of medicine. Over the years, he has played a key role in presenting Ayurveda as a structured, research-backed healthcare system, backed by modern scientific validation and integrative health studies. Under his leadership, Patanjali focused on transferring ancient Indian knowledge systems to a broader global audience through evidence-based methods.
After the honour, Balkrishna said that good health is the foundation of a peaceful society. He described Ayurveda as the complete science of life that promotes balance, well-being and a disciplined lifestyle. He also referred to India’s ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ philosophy and said the world is increasingly looking to India’s traditional wisdom to find solutions to modern health challenges.
He noted that increasing stress, lifestyle disorders and chronic health issues have made a holistic approach more important than ever. According to him, yoga and Ayurveda together can support not only physical health, but also emotional balance and social harmony.
He said that the award represents a collective recognition of India’s cultural heritage and the ancient science of Ayurveda. He added that he also recognizes the efforts of those promoting natural and conscious living for better health and well-being.
The award ceremony was part of the global “I Am a Peacekeeper” initiative, which brings together global leaders, policy makers, spiritual figures and thinkers to discuss peace, human values and sustainable development.
