The trailer for Season 2 of Sugar on Apple TV shows private eye Colin Farrell getting involved in a new case, wearing smart suits and driving around Los Angeles in a cool 1960s Corvette. However, he doesn’t mention a major plot twist that occurred late in the show’s first season, only alluding to it once.

Spoilers – for the season that aired two years ago – will come after the basics for Season 2. Sugar is scheduled to premiere on June 19, and will once again follow PI and film enthusiast John Sugar (Farrell) as he “takes on a new missing persons case, searching for the older brother of an up-and-coming local boxer,” the log says. “As the investigation into a sinister city-wide conspiracy expands, Sugar must reckon with the question – how far will he go to do what’s right?”

The season 2 cast also includes Jin Ha, Raymond Lee, Tony Dalton, Laura Donnelly, Sasha Calle, and Shea Whigham. Watch the trailer below.

The final moment in the trailer shows Donnelly’s character asking where Sugar is from, to which he responds by rolling his eyes and asking, “Can we skip this?” It’s probably meant as a nod to loyal viewers, but for those who don’t, here’s the kicker Brake For the first season.

amazing? Yes:

John Sugar is an alien, still with Colin Farrell’s bone structure but with blue skin and lines all over his hairless head. This development was revealed at the end of the show’s sixth episode in May 2024. Immediately before the quoted portion of the show’s description above, it notes that John “stayed on Earth in hopes of finding his sister”, who is also an alien.

Sam Catlin (Preacher, break bad) is showrunner for Season 2 and executive produces via Short Drive Entertainment. Audrey Chun, Simon Kinberg, Farrell, Scott Greenberg and Chip Vucelich also serve as executive producers. Mark Protosevich created the series.
